Singing for Pleasure - Zoom Meetings
When things get you down, as they have done for a lot of people over the last year, there is nothing like a good sing. The Singing for Pleasure group has kept in touch as best we can thanks to the wonders of technology. Instead of meeting we have been sharing YouTube links of all sorts of music – Frank Sinatra, ABBA, folk songs, Judy Garland, John Rutter – anything that will give us a good sing.
Once a month some of us have joined together on Zoom for our singing. It is an unusual experience singing on Zoom but it does mean we can have completely different arrangements of songs. We have joined massed voices at the Royal Albert Hall and been accompanied by brass bands and full orchestras, as well as simply singing along with The Beatles or Judy Garland. And in the comfort of your own home nobody knows whether you hit the right notes.
